SHANGHAI -- Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio on Wednesday added its name to an expanding list of companies hit by tighter COVID curbs as officials battle fresh outbreaks nationwide.

The automaker said it halted production at two plants in eastern Anhui province, citing "serious" production and parts delivery problems as Beijing's zero-COVID policies -- including mass lockdowns and testing -- dent its supply chains.
