Since 2013, we have been honored to convene the Conference on Diversity in International Affairs in collaboration with the Global Access Pipeline and the International Career Advancement Program. Now in its twelfth year, the conference connects students and young professionals from diverse backgrounds with career opportunities in international affairs through career development sessions and keynote speeches from renowned speakers that have included U.S. Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti, former Brown University President Ruth Simmons, Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), former Georgia House of Representatives Minority Leader and Fair Fight Action Founder Stacey Abrams (D), and former White House Office of Public Engagement Associate Director and actor Kalpen Modi. “My hope is that this conference will give those who are beginning their career the opportunity to meet each other, to engage with the broader foreign policy community, and to see a pathway for themselves to contribute,” said Council on Foreign Relations President Mike Froman about participants at this year's Conference on Diversity in International Affairs. Watch the testimony of this year's diverse group of students and leaders in the field of foreign policy on how this annual conference has been a transformative experience.
